We have arrested the first drink driver of the New Year.  46 year old Asanga Galhena from Carterton, Oxfordshire was arrested just after 2am on 1 January, when we observed him driving along Charlecote Road, Wellesbourne and concerned about his manner of driving pulled him into the Shell Garage to have a word with him. 

If we suspect that someone may have been drinking we have the option to ask them to provide a specimen of breath and Mr Galhena failed a roadside breath test so we arrested him.

Back at the station, he was charged with drink driving and is due to appear at Leamington Magistrates Court on 24 January.
