Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership Wins National Outstanding Achievement Award at the Tyre Safe Awards

Tyre Safe Award 2 (1)
The Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership received the Outstanding Achievement Award (sponsored by Micheldever Tyre Services) at the TyreSafe Awards 2026 on 10 June.

The partnership demonstrated exceptional strategic leadership by coordinating multi-agency road safety initiatives and delivering measurable improvements across Warwickshire.
Judges commended the partnership for uniting local authorities, emergency services, and enforcement partners under a shared vision and for effectively embedding the Safe System approach within local communities. Examples include the vehicle safety and child car seat checks organised by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue and Warwickshire County Council Education Team, and the current development of the partnership’s college garage anxiety events.

They highlighted that this collaborative model sets a clear and replicable standard for regional road safety partnerships across the UK.
This prestigious award recognises the partnership’s consistent excellence, strategic leadership, and commitment to reducing road harm through collaboration.

As Chair of the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership, Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe welcomed the recognition:
“This award reflects sustained, strategic leadership and the strength of our shared commitment to safer roads. By working closely with local authorities, emergency services and enforcement partners, we have embedded the Safe System approach across Warwickshire and delivered real, measurable improvements for our communities.

My thanks to everyone involved in this work. This recognition belongs to all our partners and to the communities we serve.”

The accolade highlights the impact of sustained work by the Commissioner and partners to improve road safety outcomes in relation to the Safe Vehicles element, and the partnership will continue to develop and evaluate initiatives in this area.
