Safe Vehicles
Overview
Car manufacturers have been made to include safety features standard on all mainstream vehicles since the 1990’s. Driver’s and Passenger’s air bags, side and rear air bags, and crumple zones on vehicles help maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment in the event of a collision, protecting occupants.
Although vehicle technology has improved over the years, it is the responsibility of the driver and/or the registered keeper to ensure the vehicle remains road-legal and safe. Active safety features, such as lane keep assist, can even prevent collisions, but only if used and maintained correctly.
