Warwickshire Police’s Abnormal Loads team, National Highways, CMPG and DVSA were forced to close a multi-agency vehicle check site at the M6 Corley Services on Wednesday 25 January 2023, earlier than planned as the lorry park was full of prohibited vehicles.

A 28 year old man from Essex has been disqualified from driving for 6 months after being caught using a handheld mobile phone whilst driving in Leamington Spa on 31 May 2022.

Warwickshire Police is urging the public and commercial drivers and companies to ensure their vehicles are in a roadworthy condition after a record number of 158 PG9 prohibitions were issued in 2022.

Warwickshire Police has arrested 100 people on suspicion of drink or drug driving in a six week operation that started on 21 November to coincide with the football World Cup and continued over Christmas and New Year.

Warwickshire Police officers have now arrested 85 people on suspicion of drink or drug driving as Operation Limit, the NPCC anti drink and drug driving operation, continues in the run up to Christmas.

Some enormous vehicles and their abnormally large loads were escorted into a multi agency vehicle check site at the M6 Corley Services on Thursday 8 December to be checked by officers.
