As the NPCC Christmas anti drink and drug driving operation gets underway, Warwickshire Police would like to thank the members of the public who contacted them to report suspected drink drivers.

Dangerous vehicles were taken off the road during a multi-agency road safety operation in Solihull on 22 November 2022.

Officers have increased their presence on Warwickshire’s roads to coincide with the football World Cup and lead up to Christmas in order to target and catch drink and drug drivers.

Warwickshire Police has revealed that a total of 4,680 drivers were caught speeding in the county during an anti speeding campaign that took place in October 2022.

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership has joined with Guide Dogs to urge the public not to buy e-scooters this Christmas because it’s currently against the law to ride a privately owned e-scooter in any public place in the UK. There are also concerns for the safety of e-scooter riders and other road users including people with sight loss.

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership has revealed the design concept for a new permanent memorial for road traffic victims that will be located at Hartshill Hayes Country Park in North Warwickshire.
