A new van is being used to trial technology that can detect drivers holding a mobile phone at the wheel and people failing to wear a seatbelt

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership has announced the results of a campaign that took place from 6-26 June to urge all drivers and passengers to always wear a seatbelt.

More than 400 vehicles were stopped and 387 offences recorded in a week of action by police and National Highways which saw officers patrolling the M6 in unmarked HGV cabs.

A man from Warwick was sentenced on 7 July 2022 to 3 points and £1200 fines and costs for careless driving as he passed a cyclist on Oakley Wood Road, Bishops Tachbrook in March 2021.
